London Climate Action Week: What does China mean when it talks about multilateralism?

— What role can China can play in helping to achieve global climate goals?

As the world’s largest carbon emitter by volume, China plays a crucial role in global climate talks but it is also a significant player across the Sustainable Development Goals, from hosting the UN biodiversity summit, to its approach to vaccines.

This discussion explores the role China can play in helping to achieve those goals and how this intersects with China’s specific notion of multilateralism.

This event is co-hosted by Chatham House, China Dialogue and The Lau China Institute at King’s College London as part of London Climate Action Week 2021.
