Dr Alex Vines OBE is the head of the Africa Programme at Chatham House, where he is also director for risk, ethics and resilience. He has previously worked at Human Rights Watch as a senior researcher on business and human rights and was a UNOMOZ election officer in 1994. He is also an assistant professor at Coventry University.
