Energy transitions

Analysing and understanding the implications of the global energy transition, and what it means for states, communities and people facing these changes.

The world is undergoing an energy transformation, and at its heart is the need to reduce energy-related carbon emissions to limit climate change. But decarbonization of the energy sector – moving away from fossil fuels towards low carbon sources of energy – requires urgent action on a global scale.

Our work focuses on three primary components:

  • Clean and renewable energy
  • Energy access
  • Extractives

This transition will be enabled by technological innovations, the market, improvements to policy and regulatory frameworks, and by increasing awareness – and actions – from consumers all over the world.
