Trends in Technology: What Does the Future Hold?

This project is grounded in the recognition that risks emanating from the development of cyberspace present challenges to a wide variety of stakeholders, in particular non-state actors, such as the private sector and technology users.

Moving beyond siloed approaches to technology policy-making, this project identifies emerging trends in technology and their implications for economies, societies and governments, filling critical knowledge gaps that may present obstacles to policy progress.

Through briefing papers and a series of events on emerging trends – in particular, the fragmentation of global internet and its consequences – this project adopts a comprehensive analytical lens and investigates common ‘threads’ in the development of digital technologies and cyberspace.
