Launched in 2014, the Syria and Its Neighbours policy initiative was a major multiyear research project that sought to promote a better understanding of the social, political, demographic, economic and security challenges in Syria and their impact on the neighbouring states; Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq and Israel.
The initiative convened an expert network of governments, academics, civil society figures from across the Middle East and internationally with the aim of supporting the development of a coordinated and holistic policy response that addresses the conflict’s regional dynamics and long term implications.
